Study WIth Us
Innovative PhD Programs
Our Centre is recruiting 20 PhD students and 4 Early Career Researchers to be future leaders in biosecurity. Students will receive generous stipends, a travel budget, and a minimum one-year placement with partner organisations from across Australia.
More fully funded PhD opportunities may be available later. Sign up for notifications.
We’re excited to create an excellent student experience that will include training retreats and friendships with a cohort that can last a lifetime. Interested? See our PhD Opportunities

AN INDUSTRIAL TRANSFORMATION TRAINING CENTRE
An International Collaboration
The ARC Training Centre for Plant Biosecurity is a collaboration of three universities, The Australian National University (ANU), James Cook University (JCU), and the University of Canberra (UC), and 27 partners from across industry and government.
Partners include Research and Development Corporations (RDCs), industry representatives, Commonwealth, State and Territory governments, and research and technology organisations.
The Centre is supported by the Australian Research Council (ARC) under its Industrial Transformation Training Centre Program. It is funded from 2024 to 2029.
Training
We’re training a new generation of researchers and leaders for enhanced plant biosecurity capability.
We’re fast-tracking early-career researcher and higher degree research student training and mentoring to build Australia’s capability and capacity for applying technologies to plant biosecurity.
Alongside this, we’ll be building a community of best practice that will endure beyond the lifespan of the Centre.
